Delta Charter Elementary School is a K-8 charter school in Tracy, California. It is located in San Joaquin County and serves students from Sacramento, Amador, Calaveras, Stanislaus, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties. The school offers students and their families an alternative to traditional classroom instruction. Teaching is conducted primarily at home by parents or other responsible adults. As a support to this home instruction, the school also has programs taught on-site in technology, science, economics, geography, music, literature, drama, poetry, creative writing, history, crafts, foreign language, and visual arts. Students participate in hands-on workshops and research projects as well as benefit from interactions with district-sponsored activities such as assemblies, field trips, GATE program, after school sports, and an after school hands on science program. Charter educational coordinators (credentialed teachers) assist home educators in the development of their children's individual learning plans and provide guidance, materials, and other curricular support. |
