
History Of Our School
Delta Charter School was originally founded in 1997 in response to the expressed desire of parents and students for a more personalized approach to learning. Delta Charter school serves families who reside in San Joaquin County and the adjacent counties of Alameda, Amador, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Sacramento, Santa Clara and Stanislaus. Delta Charter School enjoys a diversified social, cultural, and economic base. Delta Charter School is part of the New Jerusalem Elementary School District, which consists of a K-8 elementary site based school and a K-12 charter school with three programs: K-8 independent home study program, 6-12 hybrid program and 6-12 online program. DCS is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is certified by the California Association of Charter Schools (CACS). Delta Charter 9-12 program is affiliated with the California Scholarship Federation, the National Honor Society, and the National Forensic League. Delta Charter K-8 independent home study program is a program that combines independent home schooling with supplemental on-site enrichment through a personalized learning model tailored to the needs and interests of each individual student. The faculty is fully NCLB compliant, and is noted for its vast experience, professionalism, warmth, support, and availability to students and their parents. In conjunction with standards-based curriculum, selected faculty members are assigned students as their Educational Coordinators to partner with parents/guardians in their academic pursuits. |
