Delta Charter

Hybrid Program for Grades K – 8

2009-2010

Delta Charter 6-8 Hybrid program is part of Delta Charter School located on the New Jerusalem and Delta Charter School campus.  This is a great alternative to a traditional middle school approach. 

 

 

Components of the Hybrid Program:

  • All core coursework is completed on-line using various state adopted curriculum that is provided by the school
  • On-site enrichment classes are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30-12:30.
  • Each student is assigned an Educational Coordinator.
  • Students have the unique opportunity to utilize the facilities of the New Jerusalem campus.
  • Student may play after school sports with the New Jerusalem students.
  • Remediation is available as needed.
  • Student may attend enrichment classes in Tracy with the Independent study k-8 students.

 

Parent responsibility:

  • The parent is a mentor and along with the teacher helps the student be successful academically.
  • The parent provides transportation to DCS for classes 3 times a week.
  • Keep daily attendance logs.
  • Attend PLP (Personalized Learning Plan) meetings every six weeks.
  • Bring student to the school for STAR testing, district testing, etc.

 

Student responsibility:

  • Respect the school, other students, DCS staff and oneself while on campus.
  • Complete daily academic hours as outlined on PLP.
  • Keep daily log sheets of hours worked.
  • Attend onsite classes 3 times per week; ready to learn.
  • Follow all school rules as outline in the student handbook.

 

PLP meetings

  • Meetings take place about every six weeks.
  • Parent will review completed work with the EC and turn in work samples for each subject.
  • Parent will turn in signed attendance logs.
  • EC will assign new coursework to be completed during next learning block.
