It is the ultimate goal of Delta Charter School K-8 Independent Home study program to offer a personalized approach to education where all of our students and families feel empowered about their educational journey.  We realize that students have different requirements to be successful in their educational pursuits so we have designed a program for students and parents or guardians who seek an alternative to the traditional approach to education. Our personalized learning model provides:

From the beginning, DCS hoped to become a model alternative program that other school systems and communities could adopt for their youth. We took a look at the reasons students were not being successful in their traditional programs and evolved into a program that would meet the student’s individual needs as well as stay in the parameters of the State Of California.  DCS created a Personalized Learning Program as an alternative for families concerned about their student’s educational success and well-being. As a result, students choose DCS’s Independent study environment because:

• The students’ skills and achievements are more advanced than that of peers or the level of instruction offered in the traditional site-based program. 
• The student has difficulty achieving potential in the traditional site-based program and subsequently is “falling behind.”
• The parent wants to be the steward of their student’s education.
