California’s Spanish Missions

Study Unit for grades 3 through 8

The study unit will involve students working in small groups to research a mission and present it to the class in a Power Point format.

Schedule

Classes on Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

November 12, 19, December 3

Mission Report Presentations on December 10.

Field Trip on Friday, December 4

to the Santa Cruz Mission.

We will participate in a program from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. which will include: a guided tour, hot rock cooking, and crafts (adobe brick, candle, and tortilla making).

Students attending the field trip must be enrolled at Delta Charter School and participate in the study unit classes. Students attending the field trip must ride the school bus. Students will need to bring a sack lunch.
